1. Who We Are
Tanzra is a partner-aware pickleball coaching app that uses Apple Watch sensors and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology to track court positioning, partner spacing, and match performance. Our goal is to help players improve through data-driven insights — not to collect or monetize personal information.
2. Data We Collect
Tanzra collects the following data to provide coaching insights and sync your sessions across devices:
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. Apple provides a private relay email address if you opt to hide your real email. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Session & Sensor Data
During a match, Tanzra collects UWB distance measurements between Apple Watches (partner spacing), accelerometer and gyroscope data (movement patterns), heart rate data from Apple Watch, GPS location data (court-level accuracy for positioning), rally and game markers you manually tag, and session metadata such as duration, player names, and session type.
Device Information
We store a device identifier (UUID) for your iPhone and Apple Watch to coordinate multi-device sessions and sync data. We do not collect your device serial number, IMEI, or other hardware identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to generate post-match coaching insights such as partner spacing analysis, kitchen control metrics, and transition timing. We also use it to sync session data between your Apple Watch, iPhone, and the Tanzra web dashboard, to display your match history and performance trends, and to improve the accuracy of our coaching algorithms over time.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to the Tanzra coaching experience.
4. Data Storage & Security
Session data is stored locally on your iPhone and Apple Watch during play. When you have an internet connection, data syncs to our cloud servers hosted on Render (based in the United States). Your API authentication token is stored securely in the iOS Keychain. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We use Apple's Sign In with Apple for authentication, which means we never handle your password.
5. Third-Party Services
Tanzra uses the following third-party services:
Apple Sign In — Authentication provider. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Render — Cloud hosting for our web dashboard and API. Subject to Render's Privacy Policy.
PostgreSQL (Neon) — Database hosting for session and account data.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or social media frameworks.
6. Apple Health & HealthKit
Tanzra reads heart rate data from Apple Watch during sessions. This data is used solely within the Tanzra app for coaching insights and session summaries. We do not write data back to Apple Health. Heart rate data synced to our servers is associated only with your session and is not shared with third parties.
7. Data Retention
Your session data is retained on our servers as long as your account is active. Local sensor buffers on your Apple Watch are automatically cleaned up after 72 hours. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting privacy@tanzra.com.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to request a copy of your data, request deletion of your account and data, opt out of data collection by uninstalling the app, and contact us with questions about how your data is handled.

9. Children's Privacy
Tanzra is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact privacy@tanzra.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Tanzra after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Check tanzra.com/privacy for the latest version.
